Concert Wear+Tips

** Sorry I haven't updated in a while!! College is very time consuming and I hate it and I just want to live free of responsibilities and adult hood**

If you guys are updated with me on my twitter or instagram, you'll know that I am a frequent concert-goer. Could be big concerts like One Direction, 5SOS, etc. or it could just be a small thing- point is, if there's a concert in the Los Angeles region I'm there.

Going to all these concerts, I've gathered up quiet a few tips and advice for any of you guys who are new to the concert world:

-BRING WATER. Nothing is worse than waiting outside a venue for 11 hours and not drinking any water or drinking very little water. It's going to get you into a bad mood and you won't enjoy the concert from how poorly you're feeling, plus you're going to get dehydrated and get dizzy, and nobody wants to feel like that when they're about to see the concert of a lifetime!

-Wear something comfortable. If you're one of those people who wanna dress super cute to impress that band member (me), there is nothing wrong with that. But try not to wear those super painful, high pumps that kill your feet after 30 minutes, cause you're just gonna have that face that shows you're in pain from stupid shoes. Also, try not to wear the band merch if it's at a small theater or if you're trying to impress them.

-Bring a bag. A lot of venues will say no bags allowed- they're lying. I can't tell you guys how many venues I've gone to without a bag cause the ticket said no bag and saw almost 70% of the audience with either small bags or huge ass backpacks. Try to bring a bag that's big enough to fit your water bottle, wallet, tickets, and any other necessities you need for that day.

-INVEST IN A PORTABLE PHONE CHARGER. I cannot tell you enough how important this one is. Especially if you're waiting outside the venue for GA. Portable phone chargers have saved my life. Let's face it; when you're waiting outside a venue for hours and you're standing in line, you're gonna be on your phone, and when you are on your phone its gonna loose battery. Target sells them for like $20.00 and they seriously save your life.

-Try to make friends when in line. You guys obviously have one huge thing in common- music. So socialize with the people you're standing next too and talk about who your sunshine is and who you ship, and all that jazz. I have met so many people while waiting in lines that are now my closest and best friends. I still can't believe I've met them just through liking a certain band.

-Gain as much memory on your phone as you possibly can. Especially to you iPhone users out there- from even 2 apps and a couple of messages, you're phone can loose storage and you won't have any room for pictures of the concert. Try to erase all your text messages you don't need, erase old pictures that you can live without, and erase your apps.

Now that I've gave you all my helpful tips and tricks, here are some stylish yet comfy clothes you can wear to your concerts (: enjoy ! xx

June Favs

June Favorites!

Clothes: Pretty simple, I bought the biggest, plainest shirt I can find at Brandy Melville that looks pretty much exactly to the one above, and I wear it everywhere. It's such an easy piece to work with-whether you're dressing up or down. For day time I usually tie the end in a knot since it's a huge ass tee and wear high waisted shorts. For night, I tuck it into some black skinny jeans but kind of untucking it so it has like a bundled look(??) and throw on a jacket and boots.

Shoes: I posted about my Nike Roche Run shoes on my last haul and I've been living in them ever since. They are super comfortable to walk around in-whether its for an hour or even 8 hours. The material on the outside also lets your feet breath fresh air so your feet don't die of sweat and smell when you take them off, which is always important to have in a good exercise shoe.

Television/Movies: You've probably seen gifs of Tina Blecher acting like her very awkward young teen self all over tumblr either talking about butts or just being plain weird. Bob's Burgers is such a hilarious show and I've already watched all four seasons in like 3 1/2 days. Hey isn't that what's summers all about? Idk.
As for movies, I was a little hesitant about seeing Saving Mr. Banks firstly because it has Tom Hanks in it, and personally I'm not his biggest fan. Second, it's about Mary Poppins which again, I'm not the biggest fan of. But so many people recommended this movie so why not (take a crazy chance). After watching this movie, I can honestly say that I smiled so big at certain parts and even teared up at the end. As a disney fanatic, this movie just hit me in the gut and !!!! [exclamations are the only way I can express how I feel about this movie]. Now I can't stop singing Mary Poppins' songs around the house haha.

Makeup: Ooh girly stuff now. So this past month I've actually liked quite a few things. Starting off with the Benefit: They're Real! Mascara. For mascara, I don't like change. I've been sticking to the same brand of mascara for about 3 years now and I still don't plan on changing it. After hearing so many people rave about this one, I decided to get the sample on at Sephora. After using it a couple times, I can say that it does make my lashes super long and full after putting 1-2 coats on it.
As I've probably already mentioned more than once on this blog, I am big on eyebrows. I think they're the most important thing on the face. Unfortunately, I lack in that department after a regrettable phase I went through with a tweezer and razor ( I still don't like to talk about it). After having trouble with sparseness and just lack of a left brow, I bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the color Ebony. I find that with powder, it just covers the hairs you already have instead of filling in, and when you do fill in the powder rubs off after an hour. This pencil really fills in the sparse areas and adds the illusion of fuller brows, and you don't have to worry about whether half your brow has rubbed off because when you apply it, it sticks on.
After browsing through Lush one day, I came across the Breath of Fresh Air Toner. And it literally is 'a breath of fresh air'. I spray this on one in the morning and once at night and my face feels so refreshed right after. It includes many vitamins that help improve your skin to be the best it can be!

[[Sorry]]

EH-GAD IM A HORRIBLE BLOGGER. HOW COULD I HAVE ABANDONED THIS BLOG FOR THREE MONTHS?!?! I hope you can forgive me, (if theres anyone even out there who's reading this and will accept my apology). But here's a list of excuses as to why I haven't been writing for a while:

  • Of course school has to be my first reason. We all know how it is, school gets in the way of everything-easy as that. Especially college finals at the end of second semester *shivers* I'm just glad it's summer. Also with transferring to a new college, I had to meet with counselors and all that junk and "plan out my future", bleh.
  • Right after school ended, I had a pretty hectic start to my summer vacation. In a good way of course, as in I traveled and hung out with friends and family and even went to my first party ( I know, I'm almost 20 and I've never been to a party ever, not even a high school dance, sad)
  • Writers block. Looking at all these other fashion/beauty/lifestyle blogs, I just don't know what to write about that's interesting or appealing to an audience. I feel like everyone's done the same thing and I want to do something more creative but I just can't think of anything else. I'll wait till someone thinks of it and than I'll do that, hahah get it? idk.
  • As a result from writers block comes laziness. Oh that summertime slack, always taking over me this time of year.
Well there you have it folks, I think those are some top notch excuses as to why I haven't been blogging these past couple of months. After my travels though, I spent a ton of money on stuff I probably don't need but will look good and experienced some cool shit so I will be posting hauls and lifestyle stuff later one this week. See ya then (: x

Haul | Brandy Melville + Nike

When it comes to spring and summer time, I just think 'Brandy Melville'. Their stuff is perfect for these seasons, especially in Southern California. And including their low prices for the most comfortable tops you can ever wear in your life, I decided to splurge a little bit there. If anyone's seen my last OOTD, I wore this black long sleeve top which seriously reminds me so much of Harry Styles, and who doesn't want to look like him?! He's gorgeous. It's seriously so comfy and cozy and I basically live in it.
If anyone knows me, they know that I swore that I would never wear crop tops. I feel so uncomfortable wearing them and I don't like my stomach showing- long story short, me and crop tops are not friends. Until one day when I came across this crop top at Brandy. Now it's not really a "crop" top because it's long enough to not show my stomach but still short. I absolutely fell in love with it so I decided to buy a grey version of it. If you're not a fan of crop tops, but still wanna roll with the fashion, I recommend buying these because your stomach won't show (unless you stretch your arms high, high up) and it's super cute. I pair these with shorts for daytime or black jeans for going out at night.

I've been seeing these shoes everywhere: tumblr, polyvore, fashion blogs/websites, you name it. The Nike Roshe Run Shoes are too hard to miss. I originally went on ASOS to purchase them and saw how expensive they were, so I checked out Macy's and they were about 35 dollars less. My first impression when wearing these shoes was a bit uncomfortable because the sole of them are ridges which makes it feel like your sock is falling off and you need to fix it every 5 minutes, but after wearing them for a while you easily forget about that feeling and they're super comfortable. They're great for exercising and going out with! Double win.

Happy Spring/New Year!!

Now I'm not the biggest fan of spring due to all my allergies making its way back into my nose again, but nevertheless I still love it. If you don't already know the Iranian New Year lands on the first day of spring-Eid/Nowrooz. Being persian, this is my favorite holiday because it means setting up a beautiful table, spending time with family, and for the younger ones- money!!

This year I went to my grandparents house and saw how traditional and beautiful their table looked. For those of you who don't know, the persian table required 7 things that start with the letter 'S', also known as Haft Seen, and each item represents something. On the table, you'll see a mirror, apples, candles, Golab (rose water), Sabzeh (wheat or barely sprouts), goldfish, and painted eggs. We keep our table like this for 13 days. When 13 days are up, we have a ceremony called Sizdah Be-dar, which means we spend a day outside, preferably a big park, with family and friends and throw our Sabzeh (wheat or barely sprouts) out in a lake.

Now whenever it comes to new years, you're always supposed to get an entirely new outfit- new year, new outfit- who can argue with that?!? Now this year due to stupid college midterms, I didn't have time to go shopping, but I did have an outfit in mind that I had never worn before. I couldn't take a picture, but it was a recreation of Eleanor Calder's outfit at the KCA's.

To anyone persian reading this, Eide shoma moborak, happy new years and happy spring (:

Mother Nature

So I was rummaging through some old photos, and I came across some I took on my 6th grade trip to Big Bear for science camp. Going through these photos made me remember what a horrible time I had on that trip- it was my first time away from my mom and I realized then and there that I was a mama's girl. I missed her and my family so much and I wanted to go home as soon as possible. They only gave us breakfast and dinner, which left me hungry for half the day and I remember my bed had a couple blood stains and some brown spots and I got so scared that someone got shot there. I

If I went back now, I would definitely appreciate it more and actually take in the scenery and that I am at the heart of nature. Also, I've become less of a mama's girl which is good, so now I can go places without missing them so much as I used too. Maybe one day I'll go back with friends and hike around. If you live in California and haven't been to Big Bear- what have you been doing? It's seriously so beautiful up there and I highly recommend a trip up there.

The Mini Haul

So Valentines Day was two weeks ago, and as a single lady (put your hands up) I decided to spoil myself with the beauty items. I don't need a man to buy me chocolates and stuff-I can do that on my own. But it's still nice to get stuff without using my own money. Anyway, getting sidetracked here.

Clinique Neutral Territory 2 Palette: Normally, I'm not one to buy eyeshadow palette's, or even wear eyeshadow in general! But if I am browsing around for some shadows, I'll always be drawn to neutral shades. The Clinique Palette is exactly that, but better. It's neutral shades but not the normal browns and taupes you see everywhere.  I'll usually use the second, third, and fourth shade on a daily basis. The colors are sheer but still add a hint of color to your look.

Topshop Blush Morning Dew: It's known that cream blushes look more natural looking than powder. When you first dab it on your face, don't be alarmed by how pigmented it is- you just gotta blend it more and more. I basically use this everyday for a natural pinky tone; plus it works well on lips too.

Real Techniques Blush Brush: Ever since I bought their Expert Face Brush, I have been wanting another Real Techniques brush for a long time. I decided to purchase the Blush Brush cause I assumed it could be used for foundation powder as well-but because of how light and soft it is, it doesn't. Though I still love this brush, it is just meant for powder blush and/or some highlight.

Sonia Kashuk Eyebrow Enhancer: Long time ago, I came across a pair of eyebrow scissors and tweezers. I made the unfortunate mistake of experimenting with my eyebrows to look and feel more adult-ish. Sadly the hairs I had cut off and removed did not grow back, leaving me look confused uneven all the time. Though I tried everything-vaseline, shampoo and conditioner, exfoliating, nothing can bring them back. Not even Anastasia's eyebrow serum brought them back.
Unless any of you guys know a good eyebrow technique of making them fuller, I bought the Sonia Kashuk eyebrow enhancer. I haven't seen any results yet, but I'll keep you updated.

Wake up in the morning feelin like . . .

Harry Styles. That's how I felt when I wore this outfit today. Not that I'm complaining, because he's one of the most best dressed males of this generation. Seriously, just look at him-he's gorgeous.

Jeans: Topshop

These are a few of my favorite things. . .

January is finally coming to an end, and soon we begin month two of the new year . I did my favorites a little different this year- just to spice things up a bit. I didn't really have any other kinds of favorites this month besides beauty items-mostly because my new years resolution was to not open my wallet for any kind of craving, but these are some of the gems I picked up when I went on a Treat Yo'self day (Parks and Rec. reference).

I'll do a hair post soon, but this is just one of my favorite hair products I've used this month. The Curl Enhancing Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner is so amazing. I've noticed any drug store hair product has somehow damaged my hair, so I dropped in at Whole Foods for some natural hair products and I've always been a fan of curly hair (you always want what you can't have) and this looked like it would suit my needs. After using it for a couple weeks, I can confirm that your hair will feel and look very shiny and soft. After putting this through my hair and scrunching it, you can definitely see the curl effect it gives off. Also, it's made from Shea Butter and Coconut Oil so thats a big thumbs up. Usually after I take a shower, I'll sometimes put on Origins Out of Trouble 10 minute mask. This past month or so, I suffered from some breakouts and dry skin and picked this up and I can't stop touching my face (which is bad cause that results to more breakouts- DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE!) But in all seriousness, this makes my face super soft and makes me feel happy haha. I' ll always see beauty bloggers and youtubers talk about this and if you might not know, I pretty much buy whatever they say is good.

After months of craving it, I finally got it- the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I've been using cream concealers for far too long and I've accepted that they do not work for me. This concealer really hides all my dark circles and imperfections. I've never been much of a highlight kind of gal, but after a recent purchase at Sephora, I got Benefit's Watt's Up! and They're Real! Mascara. Again, I've seen beauty bloggers/youtubers talk about how much they love this stuff but it never really grabbed me. After using the highlighter, I can honestly say it makes a big difference- what with it emphasizing my cheekbones and brow area. Also, it's great for using as an simple eyeshadow. As for the mascara, I give it an A. It really lengthens my lashes when I apply it and makes them look a little bit fuller. Like highlighter, I've also never been interested in nail polish-I think I had a bad experience as a child. . . Anyway! I totally forgot that they make clear polishes! I picked the SEPHORA OPI Base Coat up last December and now, I can't stop putting it on! It doesn't chip off easily and dry's instantly when applied. When it comes to perfume, Miss Dior Cherie is my top one. The two words that come to mind when I think of this is light and lovely (?). It gives off such a youthful scent and therefore makes me happy. Sorry, I suck at explaining scents but yeah.

What were your favorite things this month?

Home Decor

Ever since I asked my parents if I could choose the color of my own wall, I've always wanted to be an interior decorator. I can't even count the number of themes I've been through over the past 10 years. But in the past couple of month I chose not to go for a theme anymore, but rather simplicity since that is what I discovered, is to my liking. No bold colors, clean, and organized areas, etc.

December Favorites

Seeing as its a start to the new year, I thought I'd show you guys my December Favorites.

Clothes: I've been pretty much living in my Topshop Rib Sweater. It's an ideal comfy, cozy sweater that you can wear anywhere-whether you dress it up or dress it down, it's still cute and also a basic necessity. Another bonus is that it's beige and can be paired up with anything. Whether it be something black, white, green, red, navy, etc.

Makeup: I think I've mentioned this in a previous post, but I normally don't wear blush because it tends to make me look younger than I already am so instead, I use bronzer. I bought this bronzer a long time ago but kind of forgot about it until I remembered I had it and so, it is now a part of my daily makeup routine again.

Music: When people think of Moonlight Sonata people will automatically think of the first part, but what they don't know is that this song has three movements. As a former piano player (now trying to get back on track) I can without a doubt say that Moonlight Sonata No. 3 is so beautiful to listen to. I know it's not the normal sing song songs I would usually post, but hearing this motivates me to practice piano even more. It amazes me how somebody can play that fast and with both hands simultaneously playing at the same speed and even at different.

Shoes: I got these pair of beauts for my birthday two weeks ago and again, I've been living in them. They have the warmth of an Ugg boot, but without the ugliness of it. Instead, its chic & fashionable and has some cute buckles on the side. It's kind of like Eleanor's Selfridges boots, but less expensive.

TV Shows: This has LITERALLY become my favorite show (comment if you know the reference). My friend introduced this show to me, and normally I'm not a tv show kind of person, but I am definitely hooked on this show. I think I most related to Aubrey Plaza and her character April because I actually have a lot in common with her, minus the death/blood/scary related things. And I love Leslie and Ben's and April and Andy's relationships-I aspire to have one just like theirs. But seriously, I highly recommend this show.

Beach beach, lets go get away

This past weekend, my mom had rented a beach house as a birthday gift to herself. Normally I don't like beaches-wet sand, weather gets my hair all gross, and worst of all: the youth having fun with their huge group of friends (you know that group of teenagers that take selfies and hug and laugh and uGH). When I went, it wasn't how I expected. The beach was completely empty, and it was the gloomiest I've ever seen it. And I have to say, it was quite beautiful. I mostly sat on the patio and read books until a child started to give me a withering stare-I left soon after. We only stayed there one night because my mom couldn't stand sleeping there and it was way too cold, but I wouldn't have minded. These are some pics I took.
